Impact of Israeli Attacks: Amputations and Trauma in Gaza

Nearly 5,000 Palestinians in Gaza have had one or more limbs amputated as a result of injuries sustained in Israeli attacks. The months-long blockade means medical equipment that could help amputees is running out. Alongside the devastated healthcare system, patients battle with deep psychological trauma. Al Jazeera’s Moath al-Kahlout spoke to young Palestinian amputees in Gaza City. Zaid Amali is a Senior Advocacy Officer for Palestine Operations at Humanity and Inclusion UK. He talks more about the war’s impact on people with disabilities.
