I am a recent graduate of the Prosthetics and Orthotics program at the Arab American University in Jenin. Throughout my academic journey, I completed three clinical training experiences, including one international placement, which enriched my practical knowledge and strengthened my technical and patient-care skills in the field.
In addition, I volunteered in the Prosthetics and Orthotics Department at Al-Amal Rehabilitation Hospital in Nablus, where I gained valuable hands-on experience working with individuals requiring rehabilitation services and mobility solutions .
As a new job seeker in the vast field of prosthetics and orthotics, I aspire to keep pace with the field’s development and to continuously learn.
What do you claim is your speciality – your P&O passion?
What attracts me most to this specialty is the variety of solutions to problems that may be similar, but the physical condition of each patient makes innovation the only way out.
What do you like mast about practicing P&O ?
Restoring the ability to move and serve oneself means restoring a sense of life without disability and making the patient more productive in society.
What frustrates you about O&P ?
In many cases, the patient receives a prosthesis that restores their mobility but not their productivity, and they are only able to use it for basic needs, due to the poor quality of the prosthesis.
What is greatest patient story in O&P?
During training and volunteering, a specialist encounters many stories, but the one that most affected me during my training at the Step Center in Jordan was a child born with congenital deformities (loss of both lower limbs), meaning that it was the first time she had experienced the feeling of walking after being fitted with the appropriate prosthetic limbs.
How do you build rapport with patient in your care?
Building trust during the initial sessions involves addressing all the patient’s concerns and questions in a way that boosts their morale, especially for patients with recent amputations whose feelings are very sensitive.
