EQT Leads $56M Funding Round for Breakthrough Pain Treatment

EQT Life Sciences, former Investor in Otto Bock, is pleased to announce that the LSP 7 fund, along with the EQT Health Economics strategy, have co-led the USD 56 million Series D financing round for Neuros Medical, Inc., a U.S.-based medical device innovator dedicated to advancing solutions for chronic post-amputation pain. This oversubscribed funding round not only demonstrates strong investor confidence but also marks a transformative step in fulfilling Neuros Medical’s vision to improve the lives of amputees suffering from unmanageable pain.

The funds raised will be strategically allocated to accelerate the U.S. commercial rollout of Altius®—the first and only FDA-approved direct electrical nerve stimulation system indicated for chronic, intractable post-amputation pain in adult amputees. In a landscape where up to 80 percent of U.S. amputees struggle with severe post-amputation pain and face scarce non-opioid treatment alternatives, Altius® represents a significant advancement. Its patient-controlled, targeted nerve stimulation offers a novel, on-demand therapeutic option, setting a new standard in post-amputation pain management.

David Veino, President and CEO of Neuros Medical, emphasized, “This investment allows us to dramatically expand commercial operations and enhance access to this landmark non-opioid therapy for a deeply underserved patient population. The support from EQT and our syndicate partners is pivotal as we pursue our commitment to alleviate pain and restore quality of life for amputees nationwide.”

Fouad Azzam, Ph.D., Partner in the EQT Life Sciences advisory team, added, “Chronic pain among amputees remains one of the most pressing and underaddressed issues in healthcare. At EQT, we view Altius® as a gamechanger, with the capacity to deliver meaningful improvement in the daily lives of those affected. We are honored to support Neuros Medical’s dedicated team to ensure this innovative therapy reaches as many patients as possible.”
