Exhibitor registration has opened for the inaugural AT EXPO AFRICA 2027, which will bring assistive-technology manufacturers, clinicians, innovators, service providers and policymakers to Dakar, Senegal, from 3–5 June 2027.
The three-day event will be held at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre, known as CICAD, and is being presented as Africa’s first trade show and international dialogue dedicated entirely to assistive technology, care and rehabilitation.
Companies, organisations, universities, start-ups and rehabilitation providers can now apply for exhibition space through the official exhibitor information and registration page.
The registration deadline is 15 April 2027.
A meeting point for Africa’s assistive-technology ecosystem
AT EXPO AFRICA is designed to connect commercial activity with the wider systems required to improve access to assistive technology.
Its expected audience includes:
- Assistive-technology users
- Organisations of persons with disabilities
- Prosthetists, orthotists and rehabilitation clinicians
- Manufacturers and service providers
- Distributors and procurement professionals

The event is hosted by the Government of Senegal in partnership with the African Organization for the Development of Centers for People with Disabilities and ATscale, the Global Partnership for Assistive Technology.
The inaugural Dakar edition is intended to begin a biennial series that will move between different African countries and subregions.
Six assistive-technology exhibition categories
The exhibition will cover six main areas of assistive technology:
- Mobility and wheelchairs
- Prosthetics and orthotics
- Vision and hearing technology
- Digital accessibility and communication
- Daily living and personal assistance
- Education and employment
For the P&O sector, the event creates opportunities to demonstrate prosthetic and orthotic components, workshop systems, clinical technologies, digital scanning, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, rehabilitation equipment and locally adaptable manufacturing solutions.
It also offers companies an opportunity to meet distributors, clinicians, government representatives and development organisations from several African markets at one event.
African manufacturers and innovators can use the exhibition to demonstrate solutions developed around local clinical, environmental and economic realities. International suppliers can explore partnerships, distribution networks and models for local production, training and technology transfer.
Exhibitor packages include stand construction
Exhibitors can select stands measuring 9, 12, 18 or 36 square metres. The published prices vary according to the organisation’s location and ownership.

African exhibitor rates apply to qualifying companies or organisations headquartered in Africa or more than 50% African-owned. The separate low- and middle-income country rate is based on the applicable World Bank classification.
Each package includes exhibition space, partition walls, company lettering, carpet, a table, three chairs, lighting, a power socket and a waste bin. A corner-stand surcharge applies to 9 m² and 12 m² stands.
Eligible start-ups can receive a 20% discount. To qualify, a company must have operated for fewer than three years, employ fewer than ten people and generate annual revenue below €1 million.

More than a product exhibition
AT EXPO AFRICA will combine its trade exhibition with policy dialogue, practical workshops, innovation awards and organised networking.
The programme is expected to examine the conditions needed to move assistive products from prototypes and exhibition stands into sustainable use. These include procurement, financing, professional training, user assessment, fitting, maintenance, repair and replacement.
This distinction is important for exhibitors. Success in African assistive-technology markets requires more than supplying a product. Solutions must be affordable, serviceable and appropriate for the environments in which they will be used.
A prosthetic component, wheelchair or digital device has limited long-term value if replacement parts are unavailable or local professionals have not been trained to prescribe, fit and maintain it.
The exhibition therefore offers participants an opportunity to present not only individual products but complete service and partnership models.

As the first edition of a planned long-term platform, the Dakar event gives early exhibitors an opportunity to help shape its future direction.
