Shriners Children’s, a paediatric specialty healthcare system that treats children regardless of ability to pay, is recruiting a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist for its Sacramento hospital. The full-time role involves fabricating and fitting orthoses and prostheses for inpatients and outpatients, using CAD/CAM and on-site fabrication.
Role overview
- Fabricate, fit and repair orthoses and prostheses as prescribed by medical staff
- Supervise prosthetic technicians and check fabrication, alignment and finishing
- Measure and cast patients in clinics and advise physicians on device needs
- Instruct patients and families on device care and use
- Support departmental administration and operations
Requirements
- At least one year of orthotic/prosthetic experience
- ABC or BOC certification
