Level 3 Orthotist – Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Westmead, New South Wales, Australia

The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Australia’s largest paediatric health service, is recruiting a Level 3 Orthotist for its Orthotics Department at Westmead, New South Wales. The permanent, full-time (38 hours per week) post provides specialist orthotic care to children and young people. Applications close at midnight on 31 October 2026.

Role overview

• Deliver the clinical, technical and administrative aspects of orthotic care for referred paediatric patients, including complex presentations.
• Work autonomously using advanced clinical reasoning.
• Provide clinical supervision to Level 1 and 2 clinicians, technical staff and students.
• Plan, evaluate and report on services, and lead quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics giving eligibility for AOPA membership, or an equivalent qualification.
• Extensive post-graduate orthotic experience with advanced assessment and prescription skills, ideally in paediatrics.
• Overseas-trained applicants must have started the AOPA certification process.
