Hanger, Inc., the largest operator of orthotic and prosthetic patient care clinics in the United States, is hiring an orthotic and prosthetic technician with a paediatric focus for its Columbia, South Carolina clinic. The full-time, workshop-based role concentrates mainly on orthotic fabrication, with prosthetic experience an advantage.

Role overview

• Fabricate and repair orthoses and prostheses and their components using workshop tools.
• Work with clinicians and patients to adjust and repair devices.
• Order fabrication materials and manage inventory.
• Fit and deliver prefabricated and off-the-shelf orthoses where required, and educate patients on their use.

Requirements

• Technical training or two years’ experience preferred.
• Hand skills and familiarity with band saws, drill presses, vacuum systems, heat guns and routers.
• Mechanical aptitude and good organisational skills.
