UNM Hospital, the University of New Mexico’s teaching hospital, is recruiting an orthotist for its CTH Orthotics department in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The post is an as-needed (PRN) day-shift role at 0.05 FTE, treating patients of all ages from neonates to older adults.
Role overview
- Evaluate patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions
- Measure, cast and design custom upper-limb, lower-limb and spinal orthoses
- Fabricate, fit and deliver orthoses and check the work of technicians
- Supervise orthotic technicians and inspect externally made devices for quality
- Maintain patient records and take part in quality improvement and training
