Role overview
- Examine patients to establish device needs and anticipate fitting issues.
- Create custom orthotic and prosthetic devices based on physician prescriptions and patient requirements.
- Fit and test devices for function, comfort and practicality.
- Work with other members of the care team on recommendations and patient concerns.
- Keep accurate patient records.
Requirements
- Sound knowledge of kinesiology, medical terminology and the needs of prosthesis users.
- Ability to read and interpret prescriptions, charts and reports.
- Good communication, organisational and multitasking skills.
