Ouvrier orthoprothésiste (Orthotic and Prosthetic Fabrication Technician) – ForMotion Clinic, Lille, France

ForMotion Clinic (ForMotion Orthopédie, formerly the Orthoway network) is recruiting a fabrication technician for its orthopaedic workshop in Lille. The role is a six-month fixed-term contract producing prostheses, orthoses and positioning devices to orthoprosthetists’ specifications.

Role overview

• Manufacture orthopaedic devices from requests issued by the clinical orthoprosthetists
• Thermoform and heat-bend plastics and produce plastic or resin sub-assemblies
• Work with carbon, foam, leather, pre-pregs, plastics and resins using workshop machinery
• Assemble, align and finish devices, and carry out corrections and repairs
• Follow procedures, deadlines and quality requirements and maintain the workshop

Requirements

• Ideally a CAP Orthoprothésiste or Bac Pro in orthopaedic appliance technology, or in-house training in device fabrication
• Prior orthopaedic experience is an advantage; strong workshop and manual skills considered
• Precise, reliable and organised, and able to work closely with clinicians
