Hospital de Amor, a Brazilian hospital network that serves Unified Health System (SUS) patients with a focus on oncology care, teaching and research, is recruiting an Orthopaedic Technician (level III) for its rehabilitation centre in Fernandópolis, São Paulo state. The role is full-time and centres on making and fitting orthoses and other orthopaedic devices.

Role overview

• Help assess patients’ orthopaedic needs as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Fabricate, adjust and maintain orthoses, splints, immobilisers and other devices, adapting them to each patient.
• Advise patients and families on correct use and care of devices, and adjust them as patients progress.
• Support the selection and fitting of mobility aids such as crutches, walkers and wheelchairs.
• Record care in the electronic patient record and manage materials and equipment.

Requirements

• Technical course in orthopaedics or orthopaedic immobilisation.
• Registration with the relevant professional council or regulator, as required by law.
