My name is Muhammad Younas Khan and currently I am living in Qatar.
I completed my bachelors of Prosthetics and Orthotics sciences in 2021 at Pakistan Institute of Prosthetics and Orthotics Sciences. At the moment, I am in Qatar and looking for job opportunities. Previously, I worked as a prosthetist and orthotist at Innovation for Prosthetics and Orthotics Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
What do you claim is your speciality – your O&P passion?
My speciality and passion in O&P is spine scoliosis orthotics treatment, Cranial helmet and lower limb prosthetics and orthotic management. I am especially interested in patient assessment, Casting, Modification, proper alignment , fitting, gait training and improving patient mobility using both conventional and digital techniques like CAD/CAM and 3D scanning.
What do you like most about practicing O&P?
I like helping patients regain independence. Seeing a patient walk again with confidence gives me great satisfaction and motivation.
What frustrates you about O&P?
Sometimes it is frustrating when patients cannot afford advanced components, or when delayed approvals slow down treatment. But I always try to give the best possible solution within available resources.
What is your greatest patient story in O&P?
One of my greatest experiences was fitting a bilateral below-knee amputee who had lost hope of walking again. After proper assessment, socket fitting, and alignment, he was able to walk independently. Seeing his happiness and confidence return was one of the proudest moments of my career.
How do you build rapport with patients in your care?
I build rapport by listening carefully to my patients, understanding their needs, and explaining the treatment plan clearly. I try to be patient, respectful, and supportive so they feel comfortable and confident during their rehabilitation journey.
