CPO of the Week: Laiba Khalid from Lahore, Pakistan

08/07/2026

I am Laiba Khalid from Lahore in Pakistan. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics in Faislabad Pakistan in 2025 and  I am currently seeking employment opportunities as an Orthotist & Prosthetist.

What do you claim is your specialty – your O&P passion?

My passion is helping people regain mobility and independence through patient-centered orthotic and prosthetic care. I am especially interested in rehabilitation and improving patients’ quality of life.

What do you like most about practicing O&P?

I enjoy seeing patients regain confidence, mobility, and independence after receiving the right device and rehabilitation support.

What frustrates you about O&P?

One of the biggest challenges is when patients cannot access timely or affordable orthotic and prosthetic services, which can delay their recovery.

What is your greatest patient story in O&P?

During my internship at PSRD Hospital, I had the opportunity to assist patients throughout their rehabilitation journey. Seeing their confidence and mobility improve after receiving appropriate orthotic or prosthetic care was one of the most rewarding experiences of my training.

How do you build rapport with patients in your care?

I build trust by listening carefully, treating every patient with respect and empathy, explaining the treatment process clearly, and encouraging them throughout their rehabilitation.
