Bangladesh Amputee Football Team Prepares for Asian Championship 2025

The Bangladesh Amputee Football Team was seen in high spirits on Saturday morning as they continued their final training sessions ahead of the upcoming Asian Amputee Football Championship 2025, scheduled to take place from November 9-15 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

During the morning practice held at the Mohammadpur Shahid Park in Dhaka, players were seen warming up, strategizing, and fine-tuning their coordination under the supervision of team officials. The spirited session reflected both determination and unity as the athletes prepared to represent Bangladesh on the continental stage.

This year’s championship will feature nine national teams, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Iraq, Malaysia, Syria, Uzbekistan, and Yemen. The top four teams will qualify for the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Costa Rica.

Team representatives expressed optimism about Bangladesh’s prospects, highlighting the players’ resilience and dedication despite limited facilities. The event marks a significant milestone for the nation’s growing para-sports movement, giving amputee athletes a global platform to showcase their strength and skill.

The World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) is organizing the championship in collaboration with local sports authorities in Indonesia.
