The life struggle story of 24-year-old Mohit from Sonipat, Haryana is inspiring. In childhood, he dreamed of joining the army, but 15 years ago he lost a leg due to bone cancer. This shattered his dream of joining the army and he lost courage.
However, one day, a disabled bodybuilder's courage on YouTube changed his entire perspective. This is where the real-life struggle began. After losing his leg, doctors had fitted him with an artificial limb. Mohit first removed that from himself. Then, standing on just one leg, he pursued bodybuilding, powerlifting, and modelling.
He won titles like Mr. Haryana, Mr. UP and Mr. World. He earned more than 100 medals in various championships, and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had promised him a government job, but he hasn't received any assistance so far.
However, even after this Mohit did not give up or stop. "Those who don't stop are the ones who make history"... With such thinking, Mohit is now preparing for the Paralympics. As the month of Sawan is ongoing, he is also doing a 200 kilometer long 'Dandvat Kanwar Yatra' from Haridwar to Sonipat, in which he covers 2 kilometers daily by lying down and moving.

Know here the story of Mohit's life struggle...
- Resident of Sonipat, studied medicine: Mohit is from Vishal Nagar, Street No. 3 in Sonipat district of Haryana. He is 24 years old. Since childhood, he dreamed of joining the army. In 2008, when he was in 10th grade, he started preparing for the army. Wrestling and running were his daily practice. After 12th grade, he completed a diploma in Medical Lab Technology and in 2016 also worked at a hospital. His family includes his parents, a brother and sister-in-law.
- Struck by bone cancer, lost his leg: Mohit's life took a turn in 2010 when he was first diagnosed with bone cancer. A rod was inserted in his leg at a Delhi hospital, and the treatment cured the illness for some time. However, 5 years later in 2015, the cancer returned to the same leg. The bone had deteriorated and suddenly the joint broke. With no other options available, doctors amputated the entire leg from the thigh down.
- Doctors fitted artificial leg: Due to complete loss of right leg, Mohit had to spend considerable time in the hospital. When he got slightly better, he faced difficulty walking with one leg. After this, doctors advised fitting an artificial leg so that he would not have difficulty in moving around. Following this advice, Mohit got an artificial leg fitted. Mohit used the artificial leg for about 5 years. Mohit says that these five years were the most painful of his life. He had dreamed of joining the army, but that dream was shattered because of losing his leg. His life had become filled with despair.
- Got inspiration from YouTube, took steps towards the goal: Mohit further says that after losing his leg, he was mentally broken. Then one day he watched a video of a disabled bodybuilder on YouTube, which changed his entire perspective. At that moment, he decided that he too would become a bodybuilder and prove himself. After that, he started going to the gym for 6 hours every day. When the artificial leg became a hindrance in bodybuilding, he left that too and decided to live life with just one leg. He says that it wasn't easy, but "nothing is impossible if you have determination and passion".
Mohit achieved many successes with one leg:

Family had tears in their eyes when the first medal came
Mohit says that about 9-10 years ago, he participated in bodybuilding championship for the first time. He received a medal in his very first championship. When he reached home with this medal, his family members had tears in their eyes. After seeing these tears of joy, his confidence grew so much that he participated in many championships and won medals and titles.
He says that his entire family is with him. He is confident that he will never let his disability come in the way of his dreams.

Over 100 medals, but faced government neglect
Mohit says that titles like Mr. Haryana, Mr. UP and Mr. World have come to his collection. He has been honored by sports legends as well as government and administration at many major platforms. In an event, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had promised him a government job, but he hasn't received any help so far. However, he hasn't lost hope.
Started preparation for Paralympics
Mohit says that now he is preparing for Paralympics and trying his hand at discus throw. For this, he has been taking special training for several months. He says that if he manages to win a medal in Paralympics and bring glory to the country, it will be a great achievement for him and his family. With high spirits, he is training day and night.

Complete dedication to religion, bringing Kanwar from Haridwar Mohit said that he has been participating in the Kanwar Yatra continuously for 7 years. In 2024, he carried 61 liters of Gangajal while walking on one leg during the Kanwar Yatra, in which he would walk 8-10 kilometers daily. In 2025, he is doing Dandvat (lying down) Kanwar Yatra from Haridwar to Sonipat, which is approximately 200 kilometers distance.
He collected water from Haridwar on May 12 and will offer it at his Shiva temple in Sonipat on July 1. His special identity is walking 2 kilometers daily by lying down and keeping a temple and eternal flame in a moving vehicle alongside. His objective is to embrace Sanatan Dharma above caste distinctions and to get cow mother the status of national mother.
Besides, my purpose is not just religious faith but to show that even if the body is weak, if the spirit is high then no obstacle is too big.
