Over the past two weeks, Mafaz Medical in collaboration with Ottobock carried out a deeply moving humanitarian initiative that brought new hope to children from Gaza who have suffered life-changing injuries. The mission, held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Dina Mired, served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of compassion, partnership, and innovation in prosthetic care.

The event gathered medical and rehabilitation specialists, volunteers, and international partners, united by one purpose — to help children turn pain into possibility. For Mafaz and Ottobock, the collaboration was more than a mission of care; it was a reaffirmation of their shared commitment to restoring mobility and dignity to those who have endured unimaginable trauma.
Among the children treated was Amir, a young boy who lost his leg in an explosion. Amid the chaos of that day, Amir searched for his father, gathering what was left of him before collapsing and slipping into a coma. His story, like so many others, stands as a heartbreaking testament to the human cost of conflict — and to the strength of those who survive it.
The success of this mission was made possible through the joint efforts of multiple organizations. The Jordan Armed Forces and Royal Medical Services played a crucial role in transporting and supporting the injured. The Gaza Health Initiative and Private Hospitals Association provided urgent medical interventions and coordinated logistics in Jordan, ensuring that the children received timely and specialized care. Meanwhile, Mafaz Medical and SOS Children’s Villages offered dedicated rehabilitation, accommodation, and emotional support for the young patients throughout their recovery in Amman.
Ottobock, a global leader in prosthetics and orthotics, contributed its expertise, technology, and personnel to ensure that each child received customized mobility solutions — a tangible symbol of hope and renewal.

Reflecting on the initiative, the Ottobock team described the experience as “a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.” They expressed gratitude to all the partners and colleagues who stood side by side throughout the mission, emphasizing that such cooperation is what turns compassion into action.
As the team departed Amman, they carried with them not only memories of courage and resilience but a renewed purpose: to continue building pathways to healing for children whose futures depend on access to care, technology, and humanity.
