5th JONSPO Orthotics Scientific Day to Explore Clubfoot Management, Enablement and Solutions

The Jordanian Orthotics and Prosthetics Society (JONSPO) is preparing to bring the regional orthotic and rehabilitation community together for the 5th JONSPO Orthotics Scientific Day, taking place on Saturday, 21 November 2026, at the Century Park Hotel in Amman, Jordan.

This year’s scientific meeting will be dedicated to the theme “Club Foot Deformity Management, Enablement and Solutions,” placing one of the most important challenges in paediatric orthopaedic rehabilitation at the centre of discussion.

Clubfoot, or congenital talipes equinovarus, can have a significant impact on mobility and function when not appropriately treated and monitored. Modern management approaches increasingly emphasise early intervention, multidisciplinary care, appropriate orthotic management and long-term follow-up to help children achieve functional mobility and reduce the risk of recurrence.

A Multidisciplinary Approach to Clubfoot

The JONSPO scientific day is designed to bring together professionals involved across the continuum of clubfoot care. The event will provide an opportunity for orthotists, prosthetists, physiotherapists, orthopaedic surgeons, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation professionals and students to exchange knowledge and clinical experience.

The multidisciplinary nature of the event reflects the reality of clubfoot management, where successful outcomes can depend on coordination between medical, surgical, rehabilitation and orthotic teams.

For orthotists and orthotic technicians in particular, clubfoot management presents important considerations around brace selection, design, fit, compliance, skin protection, growth and long-term patient follow-up. These considerations become particularly important in paediatric patients, where orthotic solutions must balance clinical requirements with comfort, usability and the child’s changing anatomy.

Sharing Knowledge and Clinical Experience

Scientific meetings such as the JONSPO Orthotics Scientific Day provide an important platform for professionals to discuss established treatment pathways while examining new developments in clinical practice and rehabilitation technology.

The event’s focus on management, enablement and solutions is particularly relevant to the wider development of orthotic services across Jordan and the region. By bringing different professional disciplines into the same forum, the meeting can support knowledge exchange and encourage greater collaboration between clinical teams.

For students and early-career professionals, the event also offers an opportunity to gain exposure to current approaches to clubfoot care and engage directly with experienced practitioners.

The Importance of Orthotic Management

Orthotic care is an important component of the longer-term clubfoot pathway. The Ponseti International Association describes the clubfoot care pathway as encompassing identification, access to appropriate treatment, trained healthcare providers, family adherence and follow-up.

The association also provides clinical resources and guidelines for healthcare professionals involved in clubfoot management.

For CPO professionals, this reinforces the importance of considering not only initial correction but also the practical requirements of ongoing bracing, monitoring and patient and family engagement.

Clubfoot Management Across IMEA

The subject has relevance well beyond Jordan. Clubfoot remains an important paediatric rehabilitation priority across the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and South Asia, where access to early diagnosis, specialist treatment, orthotic services and long-term follow-up can vary considerably.

Strengthening multidisciplinary knowledge and developing practical, sustainable solutions can therefore contribute to better rehabilitation pathways for children with clubfoot across the wider IMEA region.

The JONSPO meeting also highlights the increasingly important role of professional societies in creating opportunities for continuous professional development, regional networking and the sharing of clinical expertise.

Save the Date

The 5th JONSPO Orthotics Scientific Day will take place on:

Date: Saturday, 21 November 2026
Venue: Century Park Hotel, Amman, Jordan
Theme: Club Foot Deformity Management, Enablement and Solutions

The Century Park Hotel is located in Amman’s diplomatic district and provides meeting and conference facilities.

With clubfoot management as its central theme, the event is expected to provide a valuable forum for discussion between orthotic, prosthetic, surgical, rehabilitation and physiotherapy professionals.

For the regional CPO community, the scientific day represents an opportunity to connect with colleagues, exchange practical knowledge and contribute to the continued development of multidisciplinary approaches to paediatric mobility and rehabilitation.
