Hanger, Inc., a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) patient care services and solutions, announced today it has entered into an agreement to acquire Point Designs, a Colorado-based firm that uses cutting-edge technology to advance the field of partial hand prosthetic design with expertise in additive manufacturing and mechanical design.
Point Designs was founded by researchers in the field of upper limb prosthetic design from the Weir Biomechatronics Development Laboratory at the University of Colorado Denver|Anschutz Professors Richard Weir and Jacob Segil, Paul M. Rady Mechanical Engineering Research Professor and Managing Director of the Center for Translational Research in the CU Boulder College of Engineering and Applied Science, along with cofounders Dr. Levin Sliker and Stephen Huddle have decades of research experience spanning neural interfaces, myoelectric control algorithms, and upper limb prosthetic design.
