Ottobock has announced the acquisition of German-based Romedis GmbH, a company renowned for its advanced hydrostatic casting techniques utilized in the fabrication of prosthetic sockets. Romedis specializes in innovative systems like the Symphonie Aqua Polaris, which enables the production of check sockets through a unique curing process that incorporates UV light technology. By integrating Romedis into its O&P Business Solutions division, Ottobock broadens its range of fitting solutions, now providing practitioners and patients with an alternative to the conventional plaster cast method. This expansion enhances Ottobock’s ability to deliver customized and efficient care within the orthotics and prosthetics sector.
