Prosthetic Limbs Provided to Mandalay Earthquake Victims

Union Minister for Health, Prof. Dr. Thet Khaing Win, together with Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and party, on Thursday attended the Prosthetic limbs provision ceremony for Mandalay earthquake victims who lost limbs due to earthquake at prosthetic and orthotic equipment workshop of Mandalay Orthopaedic Hospital.

Under the guidance of Head of State, prosthetic limbs service and provisions have been conducted continuously at Yangon National Rehabilitation Hospital and Mandalay Orthopaedic Hospital. A total of 22 patients who lost limbs have already been received prosthetic treatment in June, 2025.

At present, prosthetic treatments are providing to 18 patients in Mandalay and 3 in Yangon respectively. Arrangements are underway to provide prosthetic treatment to the rest of patients in need.

Next, the Union Minister and party met with the 84th patient who  underwent kidney transplant surgery and kidney donor as well as the patient  who underwent left arm replantation surgery, comforted them and provided nutritious foostuff. All of the patients are in good condition and necessary health care treatments will be provided according to their needs.
