It was a great day on November 5, 2025—International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day. We organized a public awareness program at our hospital in Christian Medical College, Vellore. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who set up engaging stalls to educate various health professionals and members of the public about "P&O Products" and the transformative role of 3D printing in Prosthetics & Orthotics. Visitors had the chance to interact with the displays, ask questions, and learn about these innovative technologies firsthand. There were also creative games to entertain guests and a sales counter offering delicious snacks, making the atmosphere lively and welcoming.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the Mary Varghese Trust (MVT) for the Physically Handicapped for showcasing a variety of handmade items crafted by individuals with disabilities. These products were available for sale at the event, demonstrating not only their remarkable craftsmanship but also their entrepreneurial spirit. Kudos to all persons with disabilities who contributed by making and selling these products at the stalls—their efforts truly embody empowerment and self-reliance.
This year’s theme emphasized "Products," and the event highlighted a diverse range of solutions—from affordable options to advanced, cutting-edge innovations. Visitors could see the latest developments in 3D printing for P&O applications, gaining insight into how technology is continually advancing the field. The presence and participation of MVT friends further illustrated the empowerment of persons with disabilities, who played a vital role in the event's success. Overall, it was a day filled with unity, learning, and celebration—an occasion to recognize the professional excellence and impactful contributions of Prosthetists and Orthotists.
