CHAL Foundation Partners with HBL Microfinance Bank and Creek Hospital to Improve Access to Assistive Devices in Pakistan

The CHAL Foundation has announced a new collaboration with HBL Microfinance Bank and Creek Hospital aimed at improving access to assistive devices and rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities across Pakistan. The partnership brings together expertise in orthotics and prosthetics, healthcare delivery, and financial services to help patients obtain the mobility support they need without facing overwhelming financial barriers.

Through the agreement with HBL Microfinance Bank, the initiative will focus on developing financial solutions that make prosthetic and orthotic devices more affordable for patients who might otherwise be unable to access treatment. At the same time, cooperation with Creek Hospital will strengthen clinical coordination and improve referral pathways, ensuring that individuals requiring rehabilitation services can receive timely assessment, fitting, and follow-up care.

Representatives from CHAL Foundation noted that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building a more inclusive healthcare system by linking rehabilitation professionals, medical providers, and financial institutions. By combining clinical services with accessible financing, the program aims to reduce delays in treatment and improve long-term outcomes for individuals who depend on assistive technology for mobility and independence.

Founded in 2010, CHAL Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities through prosthetic and orthotic services, mobility aids, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation programs delivered through a network of centres across Pakistan. The organization has worked with national and international partners to expand access to assistive devices and promote social inclusion for people living with physical impairments.

The new partnership is expected to create a more patient-friendly system by integrating healthcare, rehabilitation, and financial support, helping more individuals obtain the devices and services needed to return to school, work, and community life.

This initiative highlights the growing importance of cross-sector collaboration in rehabilitation, particularly in countries where cost remains one of the biggest barriers to accessing prosthetic and orthotic care.
