CPO of the Week: Moath Issa from Amman, Jordan

My name is Moath Issa. I am based in Amman, Jordan, and I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), graduated in 2017. I currently work at 3DP4ME Jordan, where I focus on digital fabrication and transforming traditional prosthetics and orthotics workflows into fully digital processes.

What do you claim is your specialty – your O&P passion?
My specialty is digital fabrication and transitioning traditional workflows into digital ones within the O&P field. My passion lies in seeing a digital design come to life and be worn by a patient with an exact, comfortable fit.

What do you like most about practicing O&P?
What I enjoy most is the direct impact we have on improving people’s independence and quality of life. Being part of that journey is incredibly rewarding.

What frustrates you about O&P?
One of the main challenges in O&P is the slow adoption of digital workflows. While the benefits are clear, many clinics are still hesitant to fully embrace and trust these technologies. I see this as an opportunity to continue advocating for innovation and demonstrating the value of digital solutions in patient care.

What is your greatest patient story in O&P?
One of my most memorable patient experiences was working with a bilateral lower limb amputee who was initially unable to perform daily activities independently. Seeing them regain mobility, confidence, and the ability to live independently was truly life changing.

How do you build rapport with patients in your care?
I build rapport by listening carefully to my patients, understanding their needs, and involving them in the design and fitting process. I make sure they feel comfortable, heard, and confident every step of the way, as trust and clear communication are key to achieving the best outcomes.
