First Humanitarian Mission in Senegal by Eqwal Foundation

Eqwal Foundation is launching its very first humanitarian mission in Senegal, in collaboration with the association Nav’Solidaire, a key partner with whom the foundation works in close coordination.

For several years, Nav’Solidaire has been committed to the collection, recycling, and redistribution of unused prosthetic components in Europe, making them available to people with disabilities in several African countries.

This first field mission marks an important milestone for Eqwal Foundation. It is part of a long-term support approach, with the primary objective of assisting and training local orthoprosthetists.

Benoit Kedzierski and Laurent Duarte, two orthoprosthetists from our Eqwal Ability Belgium branch, have just arrived in Senegal to share their expertise with the local partner center. Their role is to train, support, and assist local professionals, particularly in patient care and follow-up.

After an initial site visit and introductions, our orthoprosthetists will be able to begin training the local teams and fitting the various patients.

This first on-the-ground phase marks the beginning of a concrete and long-lasting collaboration with local teams. It is part of a dynamic of skills transfer that will continue through the upcoming missions planned for 2026.
