HEAL Palestine has shared an Eid message centered on resilience, dignity, and community, highlighting how children and families in Gaza, as well as young patients receiving treatment in the United States, continue to find moments of hope despite extraordinary hardship. The organisation published the message on 19 March 2026 as part of its ongoing impact storytelling around its aid, health, amputee, orphan, and Global Healing initiatives.
According to HEAL Palestine, children currently receiving treatment in the United States through its Global Healing Program came together to send a heartfelt Eid greeting. The organisation says it has brought more than 60 injured youth from Gaza to the United States for free medical care over the past two years, underscoring the international scope of its support for children affected by war-related injuries and trauma.
The message is especially powerful because it comes from children who have endured severe injuries, displacement, and long separations from home in order to access treatment. Through their Eid greeting, HEAL Palestine framed their voices as a reminder that even amid loss and uncertainty, gratitude, connection, and compassion remain possible.
At the same time, the organisation reported that it hosted a second Eid iftar in northern Gaza, bringing together more than 130 people, including children and families from its Amputee Program, Orphan Program, and Global Healing Program inside Gaza, along with caregivers and staff. HEAL Palestine described the gathering as a rare opportunity for unity, emotional support, and a shared sense of normalcy during an exceptionally difficult period.
The event included a nutritious iftar meal with traditional dishes, while HEAL Palestine’s mental health team also organised a support session focused on children’s emotional wellbeing. The evening further included the distribution of toys, sweets, and holiday treats for children and families, reinforcing the role of psychosocial care alongside humanitarian and medical assistance.
For the wider rehabilitation and humanitarian sector, the story highlights an important reality: recovery in conflict settings is not limited to surgery, prosthetic provision, or emergency care alone. It also depends on continuity of support, psychosocial wellbeing, family connection, and culturally meaningful moments that help preserve dignity and resilience. That message resonates strongly across conflict-affected rehabilitation contexts in the IMEA region, where community-based support remains essential to long-term recovery.
By connecting scenes from Gaza with messages from children receiving care abroad, HEAL Palestine presents Eid not only as a religious holiday, but also as a reminder of shared humanity across borders. Its message is clear: even in crisis, community, care, and hope continue to endure.
