The new facility — valued at approximately $600,000 and funded by Handicap International — is designed to expand access to essential rehabilitation services for people living with limb loss, disability, and injury across the region.

During the opening ceremony, Al-Sufi and Dr. Al-Qaoud toured the center’s departments, inspecting treatment rooms, technical workshops, and patient service areas. The leaders emphasized that the center represents a critical humanitarian and health investment, particularly in a governorate that has faced years of hardship and limited access to specialized care.

Officials highlighted that the new services will help improve mobility, restore independence, and support social reintegration for hundreds of people, including war-injured individuals, children with disabilities, and elderly patients.

The project reflects growing collaboration between local authorities, the Ministry of Health, and international partners to strengthen rehabilitation infrastructure and ensure that vulnerable populations receive dignified, high-quality care.
