The Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Seiyun, Hadhramaut Governorate, provided various medical services to 666 beneficiaries who had lost limbs from among the Yemeni people during July 2025, with support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).
Throughout the month, the project delivered a total of 1,931 specialized services, ensuring a significant reach across diverse groups. Males represented 59% of all recipients, while females accounted for 41%, reflecting the inclusive nature of the assistance. Among those helped, 15% were displaced persons who had been forced to leave their homes due to conflict or hardship, whereas residents of the local communities comprised 85% of the beneficiaries.
The range of support offered was comprehensive and tailored to the particular needs of limb-loss patients. This included the manufacturing and custom fitting of advanced prosthetic limbs, hands-on rehabilitation programs aimed at improving mobility and independence, physical therapy sessions to aid in recovery and adaptation, and a series of specialized consultations led by qualified experts in prosthetics and orthopedics.
This initiative stands as a vital component of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian projects, executed through KSrelief. Through such efforts, the Kingdom seeks to bolster the capacity of the healthcare sector in Yemen, promote accessibility to essential medical care, and ultimately help alleviate the suffering faced by Yemeni individuals and families affected by limb loss and disability.
