Weekly Webinar Series for Rehabilitation in Conflict Zones Launches

The World Health Organization Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (WHO EMRO), in collaboration with leading rehabilitation organisations from around the world, will launch a new weekly webinar series from 1 April aimed at rehabilitation professionals working in conflict-affected countries.

The series is designed to support clinicians and rehabilitation teams facing some of the most challenging service environments, offering practical insight into the role of rehabilitation professionals during conflict as well as the management and rehabilitation of key conflict-related injuries.

Hosted by WHO EMRO, the programme will feature Arabic and Farsi translation, helping broaden access for professionals across the region and ensuring the content reaches a wider audience involved in frontline rehabilitation and recovery services.

Across 10 focused topics, the webinar series will explore both the operational role of rehabilitation in conflict settings and the clinical rehabilitation needs arising from war-related trauma and injuries. The initiative reflects the growing recognition that rehabilitation is an essential component of humanitarian health response, particularly in regions affected by prolonged instability, displacement, and high rates of trauma.

Rehabilitation professionals interested in joining the series are invited to register their interest through the online form provided by the organisers, or by scanning the QR code included in the event flyer.

For professionals working across the Eastern Mediterranean and other conflict-affected settings, the series is expected to provide timely knowledge exchange, practical guidance, and stronger international collaboration in an area of growing global importance.
