I’m a CPO based and living in Tunis, Tunisia. I’ve been graduated since September 2020, from University of Manar, the school of sciences and technologies of health of Tunis. I currently work with Cure Bionics.
What do you claim is your speciality – your O&P passion?
I’m specialized tge most in prosthetics for lower and upper limbs, as well as insoles, DAFOs, carbon KAFOs and trunk braces.
What do you like most about practicing O&P?
I like how to make my patients satisfied and happy with their progress and achievements especially when they make their steps for the first time in a while.
What frustrates you about O&P?
What I see as a challenge is that rehabilitation may take time in some cases. Some patients expect immediate results, but adapting to a prosthesis or orthosis is a gradual process that requires patience, training, and follow-up. Plus, the limitations which some patients could face such as financial problems and the accessibility to the required components and materials.
What is your greatest patient story in O&P?
One of the unforgettable stories I found it inspiring was with a patient who didn’t walk for more than 4 years and despite his handicap he made it after few sessions of training and walked with his prosthesis(above-knee prosthesis) like nothing happened.
How do you build rapport with patients in your care?
Building rapport starts with treating every patient as an individual rather than focusing only on their condition. Introducing myself, listening carefully and giving them enough time to share their targets, fears, expectations and problems are the main keys to starting the process
