My main passion is lower-limb prosthetics and spinal orthoses, particularly scoliosis management. I enjoy combining clinical assessment with biomechanical principles to improve patients’ mobility and quality of life.
What I Like Most About Practicing O&P?
The most rewarding part is helping patients regain independence and confidence. Seeing someone walk again or return to daily activities makes the profession truly meaningful.
What Frustrates Me About O&P?
Limited access to advanced technologies and financial barriers that prevent some patients from receiving the most appropriate devices.
What is your greatest patient story in O&P?
One of my most memorable patients was a 13-year-old boy named Rayan who underwent an above-knee amputation due to bone cancer. Witnessing his journey from surgery to walking confidently with his prosthesis and returning to everyday life was truly inspiring. I also documented part of his rehabilitation journey in a short video, which can be viewed on my LinkedIn profile.
How do you build rapport with patients in your care?
I listen carefully to each patient’s concerns, involve them in every step of the treatment process, communicate honestly, and provide continuous follow-up. Building trust and showing empathy are the foundation of successful rehabilitation.
